Ben and Louise’s day was particularly special to me. Way back when I was 12 years old and was in my first year of Boarding School, Louise, who was a couple of years older was my “boarding buddy”.  She was given to me as an older student to support, help and guide me through my first year living away from home. Even all those 17 years ago, I remember her as being beautifully kind, intelligent, gorgeously attractive and one of the most down to earth people I had ever met. So when the time came for Louise and her equally talented boyfriend FROM COLLEGE Ben, to tie the knot, I was blessed that I was asked to capture their day.

On one of the steamiest days in October, set back behind Mt Warning in the hills of Midginbil, Ben and Louise celebrated at one of the most rustic, relaxed venues I have ever been to. Set at a beautiful country resort with chickens, rolling hills and bunk beds (especially for school camps) it was the perfect setting for Ben and Louise to escape the city and celebrate with their friends and family.

the location for Ben and Louise’s ceremony was possibly the closest thing to some beautiful Canadian backdrop I had ever seeN. Overlooking Clarrie Hall Dam the picturesque landscape filled with birds, plants and wildlife took my breath away. Such a magnificent secret, only an hour from skyscrapers and concrete jungles. Their ceremony was particularly special in the fact the their old college warden flew all the way from the cambridge to marry them. jUST ANOTHER PERSONAL TOUCH TO ADD TO THIS MAJESTIC DAY.

Soon after the ceremony in the mid afternoon warmth, their guests moved back to Midginbill Hill Country RESORT WHERE THEY COOLED DOWN WITH DRINKS AND PLAYED lawn games. There was not doubt that such a warm day wasn’t the beginning of an almighty afternoon storm that was soon to pass through and cool the air down.

hurried into the barn guests then started their evening with share platters filled with delicious salads, warm vegetables and meats.

Something that was lovely and sincere about Ben and louise’s day, was the individual touches and love they shared with all their guests. every single person that celebrated with them was truly valued as a LOVED ONE. Each name card had a special handwritten note on the inside, Each table (which were numbered) had the ability to write some well wishes and advice which would be opened on each corresponding anniversary they celebrated.

aFTER A FEAST OF DEVINE FOOD IT HAD COME TO THE PART OF THE EVENING WHERE THE PARTY REALLY BEGAN. KICKED OFF WITH SOME WILD DANCE  MOVES, A FEW ATTEMPTS AT THE lIMBO AND CAMPFIRE SONGS, THE NIGHT SOLDIERED ON. tHERE wAS NO CURFEW, ONLY LOADS OF FUN AND CELEBRATION INTO THE EARLY HOURS OF THE MORNING. what a day, what a night!
